Dear Simpson College Community:
Our campus community is continuing to monitor daily the COVID-19 pandemic. As stated in last week’s weekly update, it is the intent of the college to move forward with a return to on-campus, in-person operations in time for the Fall 2020 semester. We also recognize there remain many questions to be answered. We are committed to sharing information as soon as we know it and involving key stakeholders in our decision-making process. We will continue to follow the recommendations of national experts as well as state and local health departments. We are also consulting with members of our campus community as we consider how to implement those recommendations at Simpson.
As noted last week, we are making plans to transition to a more Moderate Risk stage early this summer. The college will be working with our Department of Human Resources to develop guidelines, in accordance with recommendations from state and local health officials, for a safe return of Simpson employees to campus. A decision will be made in the next week regarding a phased approach to staff returning to campus in June.
