Dear Simpson College Community:
Our campus community is continuing to monitor daily the COVID-19 pandemic. We are moving forward with plans to transition to a Moderate Risk stage early this summer in accordance with recommendations from state and local health officials. Please note, this is a dynamic situation. We are aware of projections and data – while numbers are a great guide – they do not dictate every decision. No one at this time fully knows what the next few weeks and months will look like. What we do know is this – Simpson College is committed to the safety of all. We are working daily to ensure we make the best decisions to move this institution forward – safely. One of the cornerstones of a liberal arts education is critical thinking. We are employing this along with guidance from our peers and officials to help guide our next steps.
Simpson College Commencement Details
We are excited to announce details for our rescheduled commencement ceremony on Saturday, October 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks with graduates and also on social media. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates as ONESimpson.

Simpson College Parent’s Town Hall – Thursday, June 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central
Faculty & Staff Town Hall – Friday, June 5 from 12 noon to 1 p.m.

Simpson College Plans for Early June
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Simpson College campus will remain closed to the general public through June 14, 2020. The work of departments will continue to be accomplished using the same format in place. Faculty and staff are encouraged to contact the academic dean or supervisor with any questions or concerns. The Simpson College Administration continues to monitor the situation and will issue guidelines in early June for a safe return to work.
