Class of 2021 Scholars

Class of 2021

Kenyon Draper (pictured left) is from Mason City, Iowa and is studying to become a history teacher.  He is looking forward to meeting new people through the Iowa History Center and believes that Iowa has an interesting past that dosen't get enough attention.  "I believe Iowa history is important because you need to know where you come from."

Aubrey Werthmann (pictured second from left) is from Durant, Iowa and is on Simpson's basketball team.  "I believe that Iowa history is important because it makes up who each of us are today. Our state's past has put us on the path that we are currently on."

Elliott Meyer (pictured second from right) is from Edgewood, Iowa and is interested in history and politics.  "I was interested in becoming an Iowa History Center Scholar because I have always loved History. This program seemed to be a good fit for me!"

Ryan Gaumer (pictured right) is from Ankeny, Iowa and is studying to become an elementary school teacher.  "In order to see the possibilites of the future, one must first look to the past. In Iowa we constantly look towards the future, but we must never forget where we came from, and what we had to do to get here."
