Simon Van Den Abbeele
Simon (pictured far left) is from Westminster, Colorado. In his coming years at Simpson he plans to study both history, and political science. Once he has finished his education here, he may even go on to teach history, as there are few things he is more passionate about than American History. His on campus activities, similarly to his major, revolve around his interests. He is a goalkeeper on the Simpson men's soccer team, as well as being a new member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

In addition to being an Iowa History Scholar, she is involved in the Pre-Health Society and the Wesley Service Scholars. Being an out-of-state student, she knows close to nothing about Iowa history. However, she sees the importance in knowing the history of one's environment and how the past developments, conflicts, and interactions all led to the present day.
